OpenStudy (hayleymeyer):

not right :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x - 5 = 7 - 9x add "9x" to both sides... like this... (6x - 5) + 9x = (7 - 9x) + 9x combine "like" terms... and you get... 15x - 5 = 7 now add "5" to both sides.... like this... (15x - 5) + 5 = 7+5 15x = 12 divide both sides by 15.... like this... 15x / 15 = 12 / 15 the 15's on the left cancel each other out... and you are left with... x = 12/15
