Check answers? Use natural logarithms to solve the equation. e^2x = 1.4 Round to the nearest thousandth. I have 0.168 Solve ln (3x – 6) = 4. Round to the nearest thousandth. I got 20.199 after rounding Solve ln (2x + 3) = 7 Round to the nearest thousandth. I have 546.817 after rounding

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

just use the definition of logarithm : \[\large e^{x}=b \implies x = \ln (b)\]

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

exponent = logarithm

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

In your first question, you have : \(\large e^{2x} = 1.4 \) therefore \(2x\) is the logarithm of \(1.4\). using math symbols we write it as : \[\large 2x = \ln (1.4)\]

oh so that one was right then thanks

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

oh you have the answer already, one sec let me check

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

0.168 is correct for the first question http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=ln%281.4%29%2F2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

all your answers are correct, good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for checking I appreciate it. Wasn't sure how I could do that. :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np:)
