If \[\frac{1}{10}m = \frac{1}{11}m + \frac{1}{1100}\], what is the value of m?

Fan and Medal

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

1/10m = 1/11m + 1/1100 -- subtract 1/11 from both sides 1/10m - 1/11m = 1/1100 -- find common denominator which is 110 11/110m - 10/110m = 1/1100 1/110m = 1/1100 -- divide both sides by 1/110 m = (1/1100) / (1/110) m = 1/1100 * 110/1 m = 110/1100 which reduces to 1/10
