check my answers please asap (1 pt) What is the distance between the two points on a number line? Column A Column B 1. X = 4, Y = –17 2. P = 23, Q = 8 3. U = –1, V = –14 4. J = –3, K = 18 A. 13 B. 15 C. 21 @JoannaBlackwelder @phi @welshfella

OpenStudy (phi):

the distance between X = 4, Y = –17 is 21 say you put your finger at -17 and start counting until you get to 0. You will have to move 17 steps. then you need to go *another* 4 steps to get to +4 17+4= 21 you could also figure this out by subtraction: big number minus small number in this case: 4 - (-17) two minuses make a plus (may not make sense, but that is how it works) so 4 + 17 and that is 21
