Is the product of a rational number and an irrational number necessarily rational? necessarily irrational? I'm having trouble with the word "necessarily". How can I prove this one way or the other?

it is irrational. 7 is rational , pi is irrational 7pi is irrational.

You can prove it if you know the same thing about the product of an integer and an irrational number.
