MEDAL!! COMBINTATIONS AND PERMUTATIONS Ellen, Carl, and Hudson are at a costume shop to get Halloween costumes. The shop has 3 different zombie costumes, 9 different super-hero costumes, and 4 different science fiction costumes. There is only 1 of each costume. Each of them purchase one of these costumes. How many possible combinations of costumes are there?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

there are 3 zombie costumes, 9 super-hero costumes, and 4 science fiction costumes, so there are 3*9*4 possible ways to pick one of each

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if there are an unlimited number of costumes? @Vocaloid would that change the answer?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

hm...the way that question is worded is a bit vague, I'm not quite sure what the answer would be

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

I don't think the answer would change, since they're still only picking one of each costume

That's what I was thinking but i wasn't completely sure either. Just wanted a second opinion, thank you!
