Question

Just a small extract from the novel I'm writing. My favorite character (Cody) has finally been introduced, and I'm endlessly happy about that. I hope you bother to read it, and I hope you enjoy it if you do. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Comfortable silence;

I think it's possibly one of the most sacred things on this planet. This earth is plagued with so many different types of humans, all so different, struggling so desperately to be the same. Killing themselves trying to find something in common with one and other, and often it's hard, and some find it impossible. So we fill such a sacred thing, with pointless small talk, about things that don't matter, not even us, just in order not to hear that silence ring. Because if it does, there's something wrong, right? You have to speak, to hold a conversation, because that's just the thing to do. And if you don't, if you can't, you're boring, and it's awkward. Or at least that's what I've heard.

Personally I think it's all pretentious bullsh1t, trying to impress one and other with our conversational skills, even when we don't really have anything to say. It's all a competition of who's the most interesting, because interesting people always have the most to say, right? Yeah, right. And so when you find someone who wants to share silence with you, rather than meaningful words, I think that's a really precious thing. To feel the need to not say anything at all, what a beautiful need to have. It's when the silence is comfortable, and it lingers blissfully through the air, rather than weighing down on your chest as a bourdon. That's when it's beautiful and perfect, that's when it's sacred.

Comfortable silence; that's what Cody and I are walking in right this very moment, and it feels so good to share silence with something other than my bedroom walls.

Its looks great as far as a novel is concerned, but here's a small suggestion, please try to remove/ change words like Bull**** . It doesnt look good in that paragraph, Rest is brilliant! Good Work!
