Q.3 add 4 on both sides of equality and proceed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk man

rishavraj (rishavraj):

see 16 = 4x - 4 on adding 4 on both sides 16 + 4 = 4x - 4 + 4 20 = 4x

ok so the equation is 16=4x-4 then, you need to add 4 to both sides so the x could be by itself so it would be.. 20=4x after you get 20 = 4x, you divide 4 on both sides since you are trying to get x to be standing by itself. After you divide 4 on both sides you get 5=x OR x=5 So x=5 and 5 is the correct answer :D
