Yolanda has a gourmet coffee shop with two different types of coffee. Type A costs $5.95 per pound and Type B costs $7.00 per pound. A customer wishes to purchase a mixture of theses, using two times more of Type A than Type B. If the total cost for the customer is $56.70, how many pounds of each did the customer buy?
You have to write a system of equations using the information they provided. Do you know how to do that?
well i know the first equation: it would be 5.95x+7y=56.7
but i do not know what i have to do next
hmmm good start. Did it tell how many pounds total were bought?
no all i know it that the customer wants two times more of type A than type B
I'm actually not sure.
@Nnesha can you help?
ok well thanks for trying
Yea, sorry!
@ganeshie8 can u help me?
@welshfella can you help me?
@hype.child can u help?
sorry i was afk first equation is correct good job 2nd one ` two times more of Type A than Type B` according to ur equation `x= type A` , `y= type B` so x is 2 times more than y equation would be `x=2y` `1st equation` \[\rm 5.95x+7y=56.7\] `2nd equation` \[\rm x=2y\] now i guess you can find x and y let me know if you need help
