I have the vector [3;0], that is just one column. I need to draw it in the standard position but i don´t get how to know which one is the x, and which one is the y coordinate. Thanks in advance.

inval, if you are talking about a two dimensional vector which has one independent (x) and one dependent variable(y). suppose your vector actually is a measure of a physical parameter say distance as a function of time . distance(y) is dependent on time(x) then chose appropriate variables. or if it is a vector without any physical meaning as in case of [3;0] the choice of naming of co-ordinate axis is yours either could be x or y/. but generally prefer [x;y].

OpenStudy (banda_mohammod_al_helal):

[3,0] 3 is x-coordinate and 0 is y-coordinate.it means the vector is parallel to y-axis.
