A boy runs 30 m east, 40 m north, 50 m west. What is his net displacement?
@amistre64
and your thoughts about it?

c is approximately 44.7 m or 45 m if rounded.
how does your material expect the form of your answer to be?
It doesn't really say. It wants the distance in meters, but it also asks for the degrees (although I am not sure the degrees of what or how to get it).
Well the displacement I mean when I said distance.
degrees are simple enough to obtain, but how to format it is not known to me
let the start be 0,0 we end up at -20,40 the inverse tangent of (-4/2) gets us our radians, or degree, depending on the mode of the calculator
some format in degrees are: n degree west of north
towit, the degrees would be oriented as the inverse tangent of (2/4)
I believe that is what it is looking for. I just need to find the correct degrees, which I believe you gave me help with.
So the degrees would be 27?
26.6 degrees west of north, yes
27 degrees west of north?
if thats how accurate you need it to me, then sure
Oh, sorry. Didn't see that.
Thank you!
