Explain how a food chain works

A food chain shows us who is eating whom. It always starts with a producer (carries the process of photosynthesis), followed by primary consumer, secondary consumer, tertiary consumer... and so on. The arrows goes from what has been eaten to who has eaten, and reflects the energy transfer. At the end of a food chain, you will find the decomposers (detritivores and saprotrophs).
