i think this might help write this in your own words: So from constantly just Assuming that it's a continuous line, it would stay the same. But if it's a line segment then it would also dilate with the figure. Essentially, what happens is that the line forms a new polygon, which should still be similar to the new polygon formed with the new (dilated) trapezoid, and should be just as proportional. the relationship between Segment ZX and and the line also would be It'd be scaled by the same scale factor.
