How do I find the y intercept for the coordinates (10,-3) with slope -1/2?

y=(-1/2)x+b , (-1/2) (10)+b =-3 , -5+b=-3 ----> b=-2 so y=(-1/2)x-2

Wouldn't it be positive 2? because you add 5 to -3??
