A widget weighs 1 ounce. Five hundred fifty widgets fit into a box. Thirty six boxes of widgets fit on a skid. How many pounds of widgets are on a full skid of widgets? (16 oz = 1 lb)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

So a widget weighs 1oz. 550 widgets = box 36 boxers = skid Firstly, we know that 550 widgets make a box. Now, the trick here is to convery oz's to pounds. 550 widgets = 550oz. Convert to pounds by dividing it by 16. \[550 \div 16 = 34.37\] SSo 34.37 widgets make a box. Now, we know 36 boxs = a skid. So, the final step would be to take 34.37 and multiply it by 36. \[34.37 \times 36 = Skid\]
