I did this problem already, but have a question
15x-12 - (4x +9) - 8

This is how i did it :
(15x - 4x) - ( 12 + 9 -8 )
11x - 29 is supposed to be the correct answer.

(15x - 4x) - 12 -9 -8
11x - 29

and don't do that again. In other words, you have a "bug" in your thinking. what is it ?

the first operation is to distribute the negative over the parentheses
