OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

167 * 10^14 which is 1.67 * 10^16 1.67 can be rounded off to 1.7 * 10^16 and 1.7 can be rounded off to 2 * 10^16

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first to get the single digit look at the first 2 digits which are 16 - correct to i digit that is 2 then you count the number of digits after the 1 and that value is the exponent of 10

OpenStudy (welshfella):

no its not D because, for one thing, single digit = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got it thanks

OpenStudy (welshfella):

its B right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that was it

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure that's what i got

OpenStudy (welshfella):

count the number of digits after the first digit 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see its a becuse there are 16 numbers after the first digit

OpenStudy (welshfella):

16,700,000,000,000,000 counting from 6 to the last 0 is 16 digits

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes you got it so that makes it 2 * 10^16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
