This has many, MANY different examples. There are fundraisers to send them money, there are care packages to make and send abroad, there are recruitment ads and events to send more hands and assistance across seas, the list goes on and on. Is there anything specific you are looking for?

Well, I think the most logical answer to this is sending care-packages. Those build moral and show the soldiers that their loved ones are thinking of them. There are fundraisers to send money to the military to get better equipment, lodgings, and equipment out there.
Of course there are recruitment events (like the Blue Angels, an aerobatics team used for recruiting to the Airforce), which helps send more people, which is ALWAYS helpful to troops. 
This is a bit of a difficult question to answer. If you need more examples, I would be happy to give more.
