Direct Objects and Indirect Objects

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

The direct object for the question you posted can be found by doing these steps... 1. Find the subject of the sentence.....store 2. Find the verb ...sells 3. once the verb is found, ask " what ?' .... sells what ? that is your direct object.....so the DO is yards....because 3000 is an adj and the rest of the sentence is a prep phrase.
