The seventh-grade class is building target areas for a PE activity. The bases for the game will be circular in shape. The diameter of each circle is 5 feet. Approximately how many square feet of the turf need to be painted for a base circle? Use 3.14 for π and round your answer to the nearest tenth. 15.7 square feet 19.6 square feet 42.8 square feet 78.6 square feet
@Ninjaslice01_GT
im lookin at it
do u want me to show u how i got it
Yes plz
They are asking for the area of the circle. Do u know it?
FYI it's Area=\[\pi * radius ^{2}\]
r u there @beckyg111
i dont think she's there anymore but ill go on
Sorry i took like a small nap im sick today
its okay. so as i was saying, pi = 3.14. and FYI radius is half the diameter. so that means radius is 2.5
@Ninjaslice01_GT Giving answers and soliciting for answers is not how OS operates. Giving answers such as "The answer is A" or just posting all the steps is not the proper way helpers contribute to this site.. What we want to see is engaging conversation, askers being guided to the answer by actively participating in the problem solving process. We want helpers to identify where the asker is stuck and then give them helpful clues on how to proceed to the next step in the problem solving process. We want to see actual learning taking place. The intention behind the question threads were to create an environment that encouraged a engaging conversation between the asker and the helper in a way that demonstrates the asker learning and comprehending concepts explained by the helper. The helper should ask the helper questions and give helpful clues and hints on how to solve the problem rather than answer the problem completely. If the asker isn't involved in the process then he or she did not learn anything. Active participation between asker and helper is essential to the proper functioning of OS.
thats what im doing right now im teaching her the method @Hero
Without giving the answer.
im sorry could u forgive me for this one time
as i was saying, so that means our equation will be Area = \[3.14 * 2.5^{2}\]
becky r u listening
so just solve the equation and you will get the answer
