can someone help me please? I will fan and medal.
Three Algebra 1 students are comparing how fast their social media posts have spread. Their results are shown in the following table. Description Amber shared her photo with 3 people. They continued to share it, so the number of shares increases every day as shown by the function. Ben shared his post with 2 friends. Each of those friends shares with 3 more every day, so the number of shares triples every day. Carter shared his post with 10 friends, who each share with only 2 people each day. Social Media Post Shares f(x) = 3(4)x Day Number of Shares 0 2 1 6 2 18 Carter shared his post with 10 friends, who each share with only 2 people each day.
hey @phi
can ya'll help me please I really really need it.
i relly dont know how to solve this problem thats why im trying to get help
oh sorry for not putting the question I need help on, hold on please.
@ganeshie8
3.Graph each function using at least 3 points for each line. All graphs should be placed together on the same coordinate plane, so be sure to label each line
if you need me to post the ones I already did to help out I will.
@ganeshie8
@raiders88
can you help me?
nope sorry mate
but here
thank you.
@phi please help if you can. I will post the others that I already did to help you out.
@phi do you need me to post the others?
what is the first question?
1.Write an exponential function to represent the spread of Ben's social media post. Ben, f(x)=2*(3)x.
I just need help on #3
you mean this: Graph each function using at least 3 points for each line. All graphs should be placed together on the same coordinate plane, so be sure to label each line ?
yes please.
one of the functions is given by a table, right ?
I think so.
it is hard to read the post. what are the 3 equations for A , B and C ? (I'm using their first initial, easier to type)
A, f(x)=3*(4)^x B, f(x)=2*(3)x C, f(x)=10*(2)^x
is B f(x)=2*3^x ?
no.
@phi
you don't mean B is f(x)= 2*3*x = 6x ? I assume you mean \[ f(x) = 2 \cdot 3^x \] ?
its not an exponential function, my teacher would have told me to correct that if it was.
ok, so B is f(x)= 6x
to plot we need points pick x=0, 1,2 and find f(x) if we have f(x)= 6x what is f(0) ? f(1) ? f(2) ?
idk.
how would I make the points from this?
ok. But first, ***Ben shared his post with 2 friends. Each of those friends shares with 3 more every day, so the number of shares triples every day. *** that says the first day 2 people have his post the next , 2*3 = 6 the next, 6*3 = 18 if we make that into an equation , it is \[ f(x) = 2 \cdot 3^x\] and we start at x=0 I am saying that equation for B must be exponential
idk, my teacher didn't say anything about it and I don't want him coming back on more if I change it and its wrong you know?
what are the 3 points for each line?
let's do the first equation f(x)=3*(4)^x for x=0, 1, 2 when x is 0 you have 3* 4^0 4^0 is 1 (anything to the zero power is 1) so we have 3*1 = 3 and one point is (0,3) can you find the "y value" when x is 1 ?
you have 3*(4)^x erase the x and write in 1 in its place 3*(4)^1 now do order of operations: exponents first. what is 4^1 ?
4
@peachpi
ok, so you now have 3*4 = 12 so far we have (0,3) (1,12) what do you get for x=2 ?
9
you have 3*(4)^x erase the x and write in 2 in its place
just do this: erase the x and write in 2 in its place what do you have ?
you have 9
3^2=9
yes 3*3 is 9 but the formula for A is 3*4^x that is different from 3^x so far we found (0,3), (1,12), and now we want (2, ??) to find the number we erase the x and put in 2 in \[ 3 \cdot 4^x \] can you erase the x and write in 2 instead ?
sorry wrong way 4^2=16
ok, but do the entire formula 3* 4^2 = what ?
I looked at it wrong.
48
ok, so the 3rd point is (2,48) (0,3), (1,12), (2,48) time to plot these. do you know how to plot (0,3) ?
do you use paper or a computer to plot points ?
computer.
how would I do it the easy way on computer?
they want you to plot at least 3 points, so you have to find 3 points for each equation but assuming you show that work, it sounds ok to use a computer to plot the graphs. I use Geogebra (free download... but it takes a while) I know there are plotting tools on the web.
what are the rest of the plots, im not trying to cheat or anthing but I will be in sireous trouble if I don't get a passing grade on this and I need it done now. please just tell me the other parts
