Are there 2.54 cm in 1 in or 1 cm in 2.54 in? Is a one story building 3 m or 3 1/3 m?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.54 cm in 1 A cm is shorter than an inch.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I was saying & what my paper says but the answer key doesn't say that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both are true. In the second case, there is 1 cm in 2.54 inches in the sense that 2.54 inches is larger than 1 cm. Not sure what the rational was in creating this question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 centimetre = 0.393700787401574803149606299212598425196850 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that means that 1 cm=2.54in is equal to 2.54cm=1in ?
