The shape of a roller coaster is modeled by a polynomial function, R(x). Describe how to find the x-intercepts of R(x) and how to construct a rough graph of R(x) so that the engineer can predict when there will be no change in the direction of the coaster.

To find the x-intercepts you'd need to solve the equation R(x) = 0 for x and you can plot those results along the x-axis. Then you can test values between the x-intercepts to tell when R(x) is positive or negative. You can also find R(0) to give you a y-intercept. Those should give you a rough graph
