OpenStudy (clara1223):

Calculus question in comments, involves adding fractions and simplifying.

OpenStudy (clara1223):

\[\frac{ x }{ x ^{2}+3x-18 }+\frac{ 2 }{ x ^{2}+2x-15 }-\frac{ x }{ x ^{2} +11x+30}\]

OpenStudy (clara1223):

I have already factored all three denominators and got \[\frac{ x }{ (x+6)(x-3) }+\frac{ 2 }{ (x+5)(x-3) }-\frac{ x }{ (x+6)(x+5) }\]

OpenStudy (clara1223):

and gotten common denominators and simplified to \[\frac{ 4(x+3) }{ (x+6)(x-3)(x+5) }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you only wanna check if you are correct ?

OpenStudy (clara1223):

did i go wrong somewhere? This isn't one of the answer choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your denominator is right, so it was probably in the multiplication/combining terms in the numerator

Nnesha (nnesha):

the numerator isn't right remember multiply the numerator with the denominator of 2nd fraction now look at first fraction there are (x+6)(x-3) at the denominator x+5 is missing so you multiply the numerator with x+5 x(x+5)

OpenStudy (clara1223):

I figured it out! I made a stupid mistake when multiplying something out. Thanks everyone!

you can check from wolfram @clara1223 sometimes they won't be anyone to help so it might helps sometimes :) http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28x%2F%28x%5E2%2B3x −18%29%29%2B%282%2F%28x%5E2%2B2x−15%29%29−%28x%2F%28x%5E2%2B11x%2B30%29%29

Nnesha (nnesha):

same with 2nd fraction x- 6 is missing so multiply the top with x-6
