Many years of war and drought have scarred and damaged the vegetation and land of the city of Kabul, Afghanistan. Lately, the government has sponsored the planting of 4.5 million saplings (young trees) in an effort to restore the environment. How will this impact the environment? The trees will be chopped down for building supplies. Most of the trees will die because the sun is too hot. The environment will turn into a tropical rainforest. The trees will provide oxygen, shade, and protection.
