Hopefully you still need help with this! If not, sorry for not being able to catch this! In any instance, the dependent variable is what is changed or affected by your independent variable. For example, a hypothesis could be "If I drop a penny into white vinegar for five minutes, then the penny will become shiny." In that, the independent variable is the vinegar/dropping the penny in. The dependent variable is the shine of the penny, as that is what is being changed. So your answer would be A. If you changed the direction of Earth's rotation, your currents are going to be affected, which makes them the dependent variables.

If the direction of Earth's rotation reversed, the most predictable effect would be winds blowing from west to east along the equator. Then earth's magnetic field will be reversed and so does the currents. @Jessipie101
