let the middle = x longer = more so add = + twice the length = multiply by 2 shorter means less so subtract perimeter is the sum of the lengths all around the figure. for a triangle 3 sides perimeter the side 1 + side 2 + side 3 = given 60 I like to sketch it helps me to "see" better
