i think these are all real numbers, am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (steve816):

Yes they are real numbers. A real number is any number that you can think of. Positive or negative, large or small, whole numbers or decimal numbers are all Real Numbers.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

What exactly are you calling real numbers here? The curve itself is NOT made of real numbers, it is made of ordered pairs. The \(x\)-axis represents the set of real numbers, and so does the \(y\)-axis.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

The plane itself is made of all the ordered pairs \((x,y)\) where \(x\) and \(y\) are real numbers. The curve is a "collection" of these points.
