A compound is comprised of more than one element. On the periodic table of elements, elements exist as they are naturally, meaning that they occur naturally, and are organized based on their number of protons, whilst everything is made up of atoms both elements and compounds, your phone, table, basically everything, elements and compounds. Atoms are the smallest unit of that retain their identity, they are made up of protons neutrons and electrons.
