What does Jonah do when God tells him to go to Ninevah? A. He refuses to leave his home, which greatly angers God. B. He convinces God to find someone else to go to Ninevah. C. He gets frightened and tries to escape to Tarshish. D. He does just as God has ordered him to do.

It's C. He tries to hide on a boat. God (of course) knew he was hiding and created a storm. Jonah knew God was angry with him for trying to hide so he threw himself off of the boat so God would cease the storm and save the other people on the ship. A giant fish swallowed Jonah. Then it spit him up in Nenivah I believe.
