Median price question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the middle price is less than the average of all the homes added up and divided to get the average...

OpenStudy (goose.):

There may be a few EXTREMELY high priced houses, then some meh priced houses. Say there were 7 houses..

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think that the prices of half of houses are much larger than the median price

OpenStudy (goose.):

Maybe the prices were 53,000 75,000 98,000 113,000 472,000 763,000 and 1,287,000

OpenStudy (goose.):

Your median price would be the 113,000... but your average, or mean price would be 408,000
