Which equation is related to the equation shown? 5x=35 A. x=35+5 B. x=35/5 c. x=35-5 D. x=35x5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, since all of the options have x by itself, you want to solve for x. To do that, you want to get rid of the 5 on 5x. How would you do that?

I think that the answer should be D

I believe some explanation and teaching should be shown to @Ashleyistheboss2

Actually, to get rid of 5, you would divide that side by 5 (so it would be 1x, or just x). What you do to one side, you do to the other. So, you would divide the 5 not multiply.
