which sentence uses the verbs correctly? A. Salman Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children are my favorite novel. B. War and Peace are Tolstoy's masterpiece. C. Lost Cities describes the discoveries of many ancient civilizations. D. "The Simpsons" are a comedy TV show

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is C. Here's why: "Are" is used when plural nouns are doing the subject. Titles, even those like "The Simpsons" where it is more than one Simpson, are always singular. So you would need "is", as in "'The Simpsons' is a comedy TV show"
