whats the distance from -6 to 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be easy to draw it out on a number line, then count the difference. However, you can solve it by taking -6, adding 6 to get to zero, then adding 11 to get to 11. So, 6+11=17.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

| -6 - 11 | <---- get their difference, and then the absolute value of it

kk thanks

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Count. \(-6 \rightarrow 0\) Then \(0\rightarrow 11\) Afterwards add it up.

ok thanks
