OpenStudy (mertsj):

Are you supposed to have others do your quiz for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got -17?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i got 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so idk what im doing wrong ..

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you can make the denominator the same by writing \[\frac{2(6x+5)}{6}=\frac{7x+5}{6}+7\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whats the problem?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

then multiply both sides by 6 to get \[2(x+55)=7x+5+42\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

oops that is a typo

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[2(6x+5)=7x+5+42\]that's better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=8!

OpenStudy (misty1212):
