OpenStudy (kristen.4):

Analyze the population shifts that occurred in the United States between 2000 and 2004. Which regions were gaining population, and which regions were losing population? Why was this process taking place?

OpenStudy (kristen.4):

Many Americans moved from the Northeast and Midwest to the Northwest, Southwest, and Southeast during this time. Some states, like California and New York, were losing population because of issues with the high cost of living. Many states, like Michigan, were losing population because of high unemployment rates. Other states, like Arizona and North Carolina, gained population because of the lower cost of living and new job opportunities.
