1) Write the algebraic expression represented by the algebra tiles.? 2) What are the factors of this algebraic expression? http://postimg.org/image/v2t4xw67r/

Since there are two \[x^2\] tiles, so far, we have 2x^2. Since there are 3 "x" tiles, we know that the next term in our polynomial is 3x. Since there are 6 "y"s in the equation, our next term is 6y. And by the same philosophies, since there are 4 "xy"s we know that our last term is 4xy, so our equation is 2x^2+3x+6y+4xy. Factors of this algebraic expression would include (x+2y)(2x+3) as you can factor by grouping. "x" factors out of 2x^2 and 3x, while 2y factors out of 6y and 4xy. So that's why (s+2y) is a factor and why 2x+3 is a factor.
