Which is the best unit for measuring the mass of a large pumpkin: grams or kilograms?
@e.mccormick are you available to help me?
@hartnn can you help me please?
Well, what do you know about grams and kilos?
You use kilograms when your dealing with mass and grams is larger
Kilogram = 1000 grams. A Kilo is 1000 times larger than a gram. ANd think about this... it might help. When you buy fruits in vegitables in the USA, they sell by the pound. What is closer to a pound? A kilo or a gram?
kilogram
Yah. So since the kilo is roughly 2.2 pounds, you use it for thing that would use that sort of measure.
oh, Thank you both for coming to help. Thank for explaining this @e.mccormick it makes sense the way you put it. (:
=) A lot of conversions is knowing how to set it up. Personally, I find it easier to set up if I can find a similar thing that I relate to. So say centimeters vs inches. They are both for measuring small objects, vs. kilometers and miles which are for things more like distance traveled. When you equate it to being similar in purpose then it is, for me, easier to translate from one to the other because I know which to translate to.
Thank you im keeping your information it helps a lot (:
