Can someone give me a good run-down on indentured servants, because I need two more paragraphs, so a couple good sentences would help with the rest.

Indentured servants are basically people who put themselves into a form of slavery, albeit one that gets them paid, for a set amount of time, and at the end of that time spent serving someone, they are set free.

Indentured servants often worked to pay off a debt, to get land of their own or to be brought to a new place, such as America. Indentured servants were a step up from slaves. Most indenture servants worked for 7 to 14 years or until their master thought their debt had been paid. Often times if the indentured servant did not get a contract the master would cheat them into working more years than they originally planned. Typical servants were 13 to 24 years of age but sometimes they were younger or older.
