A bullet is fired out of a gun at 400 m/s. If the barrel of the gun is 0.800 m long, what is the acceleration of the bullet as it moves from rest to the end of the barrel. Is there a way to solve this using calculus?

OpenStudy (badhi):

the question is similar to an object starting move from rest to 400m/s for a distance of 0.8m. Use \(v^2 = u^2 + 2as\)

OpenStudy (dessyj1):

are you telling me that the final velocity will be 400 m/s?

OpenStudy (dessyj1):

And the initial velocity, 0?

OpenStudy (badhi):

yes assuming that the acceleration happen only inside the barrel

OpenStudy (dessyj1):

I see.

OpenStudy (dessyj1):

Alright, I get it now. Thank you so much!!
