OpenStudy (carissa15):

please help, I have been unable to make any sense from this set of linear equations. Does this mean there is no solution? x-2y+z=0 2y-8z=8 -4x+5y+9z=-9

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

Computer shows that this set of linear equations have multiple solutions. Perhaps try again?

OpenStudy (carissa15):

I can only seem to get it to a point for example x=6-27z etc. No constant/real number value for any variable.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to graph the lines :D

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

use the second one to get rid of the y's and make 2 equations in x and z

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

No actually the system has a unique solution! Mathematica returned the right answer but I interpreted it wrong!

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

In my defence I can't sleep last night so I am awake for about 25 hours now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thomas

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

answer in other post :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I showed how to do it...as well as the answer...in the other thread you posted
