OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it on a graph? or?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm okay

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first distribute 3 over the y + 7 in the parentheses

OpenStudy (welshfella):

then add like terms

OpenStudy (adilalvi):

3(y+7)+8y=? 3y+21+8y=? 3y+8y=-21 11y=-21 y=-21/11 y=-1.909090 answer

OpenStudy (welshfella):

I dont think this is an equation to be solved @SADface28 - have you got a screenshot ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (welshfella):

it lokks more like a simplification to me in which case the answer is 11y + 21

OpenStudy (welshfella):

an equation would have a value after the = like 0 If it is supposed to be zero then adilalvi's solution is correct
