Which are the possible side lengths of a triangle? 3 cm, 5 cm, 9 cm 4 cm, 8 cm, 10 cm 6 cm, 9 cm, 17 cm 8 cm, 10 cm, 18 cm

please help

OpenStudy (welshfella):

what you must remember here is that ANY side of the triangle cannot be equal or greater than the sum of the other 2 sides for example 3 , 4 and 8 will not make a triangle because 8 > 3 + 4

thanks

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so what do you think of the first choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no cause 3 and 5 wont make 9 cause its greater than 3

OpenStudy (welshfella):

well, 9 is greater than 3 + 5 no triangle only one of them will make a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that would be 8 and 10 cause it makes 18 right

OpenStudy (welshfella):

No 8 , 10 and 18 don not make a triangle because 18 = 8 + 10
