\[2<3x-1< 5\] is that what you meant ?
No she means- 2 is less than 3x - 1 less than or equal to 5
Take cases... CASE 1... \[3x-1>2\]\[\implies\ x>1 \ \ \ \ \ ........\ (1)\] CASE 2... \[3x-1\le5 \]\[\implies\ x\le 2\ \ \ \ \ \ ........\ (2)\] Combining (1) and (2)... \[1<x\le2\]
