Solve this equation using symbolic methods. Show your all work. 3x2 = 57

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's suppose to be 3x squared

KjSaif (kjsaif):

you mean 3^2? or 3x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2

OpenStudy (alekos):

well first you divide both sides by 3

OpenStudy (alekos):

what do you get?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

3x^2 = 57 ---divide both sides by 3 x^2 = 19 -- now take the sq rt of both sides, this cancels out the ^2 on the left side. x = sq rt 19

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I do not know what the symbolic method is....sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can solve this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait..... no i cant.....
