Bit of help.. Piecewise function

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

The part im a bit confused on is how do you know which one goes to which problem.. x>/ -4 or x<-4

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

For A. g(0) I pick x>/ -4 correct?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

@IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (disqin):

0 is of course greater than -4. Hence you'll have to use g(x) = x+4. i.e. g(0) = 0+4 = \(4\)

OpenStudy (disqin):

Similarly g(1) = 1+4 = \(5\)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Thats what I thought but wasnt sure

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

So A. 4 B 2 C 5 correct?

OpenStudy (disqin):

However -6 is less than -4... So use g(x) = -(x+4) in this case... i.e. g(-6) = -(-6+4) = \(2\)

OpenStudy (disqin):

@Destinyyyy Exactly!

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Alright thank you.
