Help me explain why this picture is a hyperbole. Will medal!!!!!!!
a Hyperbole exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
if i am not mistaken, it is because the backpack does not literally weigh a ton.
I need a very detailed explanation
The backpack does not actually weigh a ton. A hyperbole is just an exaggeration.
could you extend that a little more @mustap
Let me try to see what I can do
A hyperbole is an over or under exaggeration to describe something. In this case the picture is a child carrying a heavy bag. The quote says "This backpack weighs a ton!" Which is an over exaggeration, because the bag does not weigh that much. Rather the exclamation should say, "This backpack is very heavy!". That would be more accurate.
A hyperbole is an extreme exaggeration used to make a point in writing. The backpack the child is wearing does not obviously weigh a ton, but it is very heavy. By saying that this backpack weighs a ton you're implying that the backpack is very heavy in an exaggerated manner. It doesn't weigh a ton.
does tht work for you and/or help you understand?
