An oxymoron is a figure of speech in which contradicts itself. So, in this picture, we see that mark twain is talking about the coldest winter he has ever experienced. Yet, he then says it was in San Francisco. San Francisco is naturally thought of as a hot place to be. Therefore the contradiction comes in where his coldest winter was in a hot place.
An oxymoron is when a sentence seems to be contradicting itself. You can't spend the coldest winter of your life in summer so it's not supposed to make any sense.
i forgot to mention summer. sorry that was supposed to be in place of San Francisco...my mind was playing with me.
could you write the part where it is
just sub out san francisco for summer in those 2 places
An oxymoron is a figure of speech in which contradicts itself. So, in this picture, we see that mark twain is talking about the coldest winter he has ever experienced. Yet, he then says it was in the summer time in San Francisco. San Francisco is naturally thought of as a hot place to be as well as talking about it being summer. Therefore the contradiction comes in where his coldest winter was in a hot place at a hot time. It isn't meant to make sense.
