yes
just put a negative in front oh each number then make it a addition sing then do that and it will wrok
if both are positive it will be a negative number so this wil be a ________ nomber
you only put one negative number and thats the last one
when multiplying , if the signs are different, then it is negative.....if the signs are the same, it is positive. 5.3 - 14.2 = -8.9 A. 5.3 + (-14.2) --- you have a positive times a neg.....since the signs are different, it changes to a neg. Making the problem 5.3 - 14.2.....it is equal to the expression. B. -5.3 + 14.2 --- not the same C. -14.2 + (-5.3) --- signs are different, so it becomes neg. Making the problem : -14.2 - 5.3....not the same D. -14.2 - (-5.3)......signs are the same, so it becomes positive. Making the problem : -14.2 + 5.3 = -8.9.....same questions ?

It is important to learn the rules about multiplying/dividing with the signs. Your gonna have more of this stuff. But do not get the rules about multiplying/dividing with signs confused with adding/subtracting with signs....the rules are not the same
