Which is an equation for the given word problem? After Joel deposits $25.50 into his savings account, his balance is $275.00. Which equation can be used to find the amount, n, in his account before he made the deposit? A. 25.50 – n = 275.00 B. 25.50 + n = 275.00 C. n + 275.00 = 25.50 D. n – 275.00 = 25.50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say D. You don't know how much he had. You do know he added 25.50. You also know that the total amount of money he has is 275.00. So I say B. :)

Sorry about the typo at the beginning. I meant to type B. :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

n = original balance he deposits 25.50...so he adds 25.50 ending up with 275.00 .....so it equals 275 n + 25.50 = 275.....or 25.50 + n = 275
